Available Opportunities

As a Concrete Plant Mechanic, the successful candidate will play a vital role in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy vehicles. The Plant Mechanic should have experience working with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components specific to heavy duty trucks.
 
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy vehicles.
  • Conducting routine maintenance, using diagnostic software troubleshooting issues, and performing repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the fleet.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions, using testing equipment and diagnostic tools, and implement appropriate repairs or replacements.
  • Ensuring compliance with mechanical codes, regulations, and safety standards, and make necessary adjustments or upgrades to maintain compliance.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to plan and execute projects, shutdowns, or upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment performance.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing mechanical maintenance procedures and safety guidelines for the plant.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in concrete trucks systems and equipment to enhance plant performance and reliability.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and promoting a safe work environment.
 
Teamwork
  • Participate as a vital member of the team to ensure the overall success of the company.
  • Readily provide information as needed to Team Members.
  • Readily provide training to any team member/management as required.
  • Willing to share any form of information that can enhance or add value to current processes and procedures.
  • Willingness to assist and provide support in any area to ensure efficient running of the plant.
 
Qualifications: Education Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Certification in heavy vehicle mechanics and a valid heavy driver’s license are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mechanic in a concrete plant or similar industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment vehicles codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Experience in working with mechanical control systems, motors, starters, and other industrial mechanical components.
  • Experience with concrete truck mixers would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience working with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components specific to heavy goods trucks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with maintenance personnel, plant operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential mechanical hazards.
